This past weekend Wilson, Joe, Jin and I went on an amazing trip to Toronto. The first stop was Niagara Falls. We drove and stopped for lunch (after only a slight delay) in Buffalo, NY for wings. Because, you know, that’s what you do in Buffalo. Per Joe’s occupational therapist’s suggestion, who just so happens to be from Buffalo, we went to Duff’s.
I think it may be a placebo effect, but the buffalo sauce was probably the best I ever tasted. Joe agrees.
I have seen plenty of movies and pictures of the Falls before and I thought I knew what I was getting into. Holy cow – seeing something of that magnitude in person is mind-bottling (or boggling even).
We even got to see a really vivid rainbow over the falls – insanely picturesque.
When we finally arrived in Toronto late that night, we wandered around the city looking for a place to eat and finally stumbled upon Signs Restaurant. One of the coolest dining experiences I’ve ever had: all of the waiters are deaf and they encourage you to learn some basic American Sign Language and order your food by signing. Needless to say, we took this very seriously and continued to use some of the signs for the rest of our trip. Oh…and the food was out of this world.
More to come…
